Voices of our church (2008)
This piece was written in 2008 for SATB choir. The idea behind it, which was created in collaboration with the lyricist, Alicia Kollar, is to reflect bits and pieces of the congregation's intercessory prayers during a church service. Lyrics by Alicia Kollar:
Oh, Lord, may it be...
Please...
Please, let it be...
Bring my children safely home...
Don't let her die...
Oh I cannot go on...
I pray for those who have no one...
And yet you give the hope I need...
Tell me why...
You see, You know...
Help my heart to know that you are there...
Help me for I am alone...
I pray for mother... father...
That He remember me...
Ease the sorrow of a husband forevermore alone...
May the lord of hosts be ever by your side...
Little children, dance and play...
Let their hearts stay white and pure...
Please...
May they rest in peace til the day You come again...
Lend me Your strength lest I should fall...
Oh, Lord, may it be...
Please...
Your people ask You: please Lord, hear our prayer...
