Requiem
Requiem is a setting of the Catholic Mass for the Dead, a mass in Latin for the souls of the departed. This mass has been set to music by numerous composers, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Giuseppe Verdi. This Requiem is a modern twist on the centuries-old musical tradition.
The Dies Irae movement (which consists of nine sub-movements) was composed for five singers and piano quartet and is currently in the process of being re-orchestrated for the full ensemble. The full ensemble will be: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 b flat clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, 2 percussionists, harp, piano, violin I, violin II, viola, cello, contrabass, SATB choir, soprano solo, mezzo-soprano solo, countertenor/contralto solo, tenor solo, baritone solo, bass solo.
