Wings: The Agnostic's Prayer
This was the first of several collaberations with my friend Alicia Kollar, who wrote the lyrics. It was written in late 2007 for piano and three trebel soloists.
Lyrics by Alicia Kollar
He has many faces and He has many names
I have sought to see Him but all has been in vain
He will not show His face to me no matter how I call
I know not if He'll be there when at last I fall
I know there is darkness, I know that there is light
And I have tried to follow the line in flowing sand
That divides up all between us, but I can never know
Where He shall draw that line when at last I fall
Will He find me worthy or will I muster fail?
Do great scales await me to weigh what's right and true?
Shall my dead there wait for me? These things I cannot know
Is he even there to see when at last I fall?

Fun fact: I messed up some of the lyrics when I typed it out in the score, but Alicia didn't notice and thus they remain slightly different from the original ones she sent me.
