Brave New Girls is getting a volume 2!

Paige Daniels and I are putting together a second volume of BRAVE NEW GIRLS! This collection will feature all new stories about teen girls doing techy things in sci-fi worlds. My contribution will be a space opera mystery featuring fledgling biomedical engineer Chevonne Watson and rogue science AI Sherlock.

LET ME FLY FREE (A Fated Stars novella) is now available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble! This is the second novella in the Fated Stars universe (the first being TELL ME MY NAME), though it can be read as a standalone.

Fire fears nothing. And Elaia is about to show her world that she doesn’t, either.

Like the rest of her kind, fire nymph Elaia is bound to her homeland, a forest whose borders were closed centuries earlier in a peace agreement between the humans and the enchanted creatures of the Terrestrial Realm.

But her heart is as restless as the flames she casts, and she secretly yearns to defy that order.

When a mysterious threat creeps into the forest, an invisible beast that leaves a trail of death in its wake, Elaia is determined to fight back and protect her people. Before she can, however, she must learn what the beast is … and the answers lie beyond the borders of her land.

Defeating this evil means she’ll have to go outside the rules, but she’ll do anything to find the answers she seeks—even if leaving her homeland means not only breaking the law, but risking her own life.

Hey, everyone! So for those of you who don't know, I'm a huge Sherlockian. As in, I was that weird 10-year-old dragging my library's only copy of the complete Sherlock Holmes anthology (and I mean COMPLETE--every single novel and story Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ever published) around my elementary school while my classmates looked on with awe/horror/disgust/shock/amusement depending on how awesome/douchey they were. Anyway, the point is that I've been obsessed with Sherlock forever (before it was cool to be obsessed with Sherlock! Before Robert Downey Jr., Lucy Liu, and Benedict Cumberbatch made it cool again! I'm a Sherlock hipster! LOL)

So when the Red Adept Publishing author group got excited over potential new reincarnations of Sherlock now that he's public domain, of course I jumped on board! Everyone was tossing out their ideas for awesome new reimaginings of the legendary detective, and mine was: what if Sherlock were a sentient artificial intelligence?

Lo and behold, I wrote that story! A retelling of one of my favorite Sherlock shorts: The Adventure of the Copper Beeches. And I've posted it on Wattpad, a site for free public reads.

Virtual Shadows cover reveal!

Here it is! The cover for Virtual Shadows, the third and final installment of the Jane Colt trilogy! The artist, Streetlight Graphics, did an amazing job. I love the colors and the action - and not to mention the spot-on model they found to portray Devin Colt, Jane's older brother, whose entanglements with a shadowy interstellar intelligence agency serve as the impetus for many of the saga's events.
